Monday Night Dinner Parties

Today was a good monday even though I am battling a cold!

I spent the morning doing prep-work for the afternoon demo. This included setting up a tray with little bowls of about thirty different spices. As I located each spice, I read the paragraph about it and so it ended up being a very educational task. I also learned how to remove almond skins (boil them in a small saucepan for a few minutes), and the difference between a raisin and sultana (red grape versus green grape). In the afternoon I was the assistant to the demo assistant, so I washed up dishes and stood by in case they needed anything. It was great cause I was in the demo room with one ear open!

This evening, my housemate Corrie had friends over for dinner.  It was a fun time and the food was delicious. We had red cabbage, oven roasted potatoes, apple sauce, carrots, and venison.  The venison didn't look appealing to me but everything else was tasty. We had ice cream and apple tart for dessert. There were 7 people there in addition to Corrie and myself and it was nice talking with everyone. I think the monday night dinner party is a fantastic idea!
