Kinsale!

My friend Ali recently got a car and so adventuring together has commenced. We both had sunday off and we wanted to go for a day trip. I have heard great things about Kinsale, so we got some dodgy directions and headed west to this coastal town. It was supposed to be rainy but it was actually a beautiful day!! We got to Kinsale around 1pm, after stopping at our friend's house for tea.

It is an adorable little town with windy streets lined with colorful shops and restaurants. I think Kinsale defines quaint and on this gorgeous day it felt like a timeless place. Everyone was wandering around with ice cream cones, popping in and out of the shops, and smiling. We walked around and then went to the Fishy Fishy for lunch. This is a very famous restaurant and it was delicious. We both had a cup of chowder, house white wine, and small portions of scampi and clams with sweet chili sauce which we shared. It was an amazing lunch.

After lunch we went in a lot of shops and had some ice cream that was made by an Irish family. I had mint chocolate chip and Ali had rum raisin. I bought a necklace that is really cool. It is made with vegetable seeds from South America... website is www.lejudesigns.com.  We headed home and I watched a British drama with my housemate Corrie. It was a great day! I will leave you with some pictures of the harbor that Kinsale is situated around.
